THE FASHIONABLE BERLIN: Variation 5. c3

GM ALIREZA FIROUZJA: TOXIC PRECISION

20/May/2023 – Very entertaining game from both GMs. Congratulations to Super GM Alireza Firouzja, he held his hopes high and deserved a fantastic win. What a fighting game, I have never thought black would lose having a solid and good defense in the middle game, still, anything can happen in chess.

The 2nd featured game: Amazing!!!  After white’s 13. e5 move, Super GM Caruana dictated the tempo of the game. Black has no clear path to level the position but just reacting to white’s threat. Since white is pawn up, in the endgame, it is much easier to find the winning moves. Great game… Super GM Fabiano Caruana. I hope you enjoyed the game and thank you for your support. God Bless You All.

WHEN THE POWERFUL SICILIAN DEFENSE IS ON ITS KNEES

GM IAN NEPOMNIACHTCHI: THE SICILIAN DEFENSE SLAYER

19/May/2023 – AMAZING GAME. It is a beauty to see the outcome of 11. Bb5 move, and unusual to see 3 pawns rolled together to restrain the rook at b8. I really enjoyed this game and learned a lot. I hope you like it too. Thank you so much for your support. Please register at my site, go to the menu then click: Register… Thank you… Keep safe always…

The 2nd featured game: Incredible game by Super GM Ian Nepomniachtchi. His moves are very calculating making sure all sides are safe away from any complications. White’s opening idea 6. Qf3 is a force to reckon against the Sicilian Najdorf since the theme is extra aggressive. Many chess followers would love to use this line to be one of their opening arsenal. Lovely day today in Sydney, the sun is bright, coffee is great while doing blog today. Thank you so much for the support… God Bless you all…

THE POISONED PAWN VARIATION

GM DING LIREN: NO FEAR, TAKE THE b2 and a2 pawn.

17/May/2023 – FANTASTIC!!!  Very nice game by the current World Champ Ding Liren. This game has so much energy and firepower. White generously sacrificed pawns but were not sufficient to create an advantageous position. In the endgame, it was already clear that black will be victorious because of pawn superiority and threats from the pair of knights. Thank you for your support and God Bless you all. Keep safe always…

The 2nd featured game: Excellent game!!! Every 100 years, there’s always a born genius either in music, science, mathematics, sports or chess. World Champion Robert “Bobby” Fischer is one of the greatest chessplayers and we are lucky to have his games for us to study until now. For all movie producers, it is high time to make a movie about the life of the genius American Robert “Bobby” Fischer. Thank you so much for all your support and God Bless…

GM MAXIME VACHIER-LAGRAVE: UNPREDICTABLE TACTICS

13/May/2023 – Super GM Maxime Vachier Lagrave played flawlessly while Super GM Wesley So was not able to recover after the move 11.Nf7. What we learned from this game is that when the king is uncastled and stays at center, it will be difficult to develop immobile or cramped pieces. Black dictated the game from opening to the end. Fantastic game. I hope you learned how to play the “Evan’s Gambit”.

The 2nd featured game: Excellent game!!! This game is unique, it is packed with lots of tactics and strategic ideas. GM Sergei Zhigalko is a bloody warrior!!! Thank you for your support and enjoy your weekend. God Bless All of You…

GM MAGNUS CARLSEN: THE "GOAT"

11/May/2023 – This is a quick win by World Champion GM Magnus Carlsen versus Super GM Maxime Vachier Lagrave. Black dictated the game, the 7…gf6 is an excellent theoretical move versus the Scotch Gambit. I hope you have learned and enjoyed this game.

The 2nd featured game: This is a one-sided game. White was not able to counter black’s offense. It really matters heavily when a pair of bishops in an open position is always a factor in penetrating dark or light square weaknesses. Fantastic game..Super GM Fabiano Caruana. GM WESLEY SO: MASTER OF CHESS THEORY

07/May/2023 – White played carefully in this game, he made sure that there was no drawing chances in the rook ending. Moreover, the game went spectacularly in the sense, where the start of black’s misery when the e5 pawn was left hanging. Fantastic game by the American/Filipino Super GM Wesley So.

The 2nd featured game: This game is very easy for white, GM Mikhail Panarin knows well what to do when black’s king castle is kingside. It is really unpleasant for black because most of white’s forces are aiming at destroying black’s defensive structure.

02/May/2023 – Elegant!!! This is how I commend this game. What a nice game by GM Sergei Shipov, it is like a smooth operating machine slowly weakening black’s position. This is the main line of the Modern Benoni using the 8. Bd3 Line.

The 2nd featured game: amazing game and courage by GM Denis Lazavik. Rating is not a factor when your will demands to win. Fantastic ideas and such a complicated game to play white’s 10. GM JOEL LAUTIERI: FANTASTIC OPENING IDEAS

30/April/2023 – Fantastic game by GM Joel Lautier. This opening is different from the Modern Benoni because black’s dark bishop will go to d6-c7-a5 which is not consistent with the theory of Modern Benoni. Moreover, if you do not have knowledge about this set up it is not easy to deal with the “Snake Benoni”. The French GM showed his way of dealing with this opening and was very successful in taming it.

The 2nd featured game: IM Daniel Barria Zuniga played a vicious game. Black was not able to counter white’s attack. This is a type of play on how to engage the tricky black opening to not allow to develop pieces. Fantastic play, but have a hot & delicious coffee first.
